Stephen Paul “Steve” Patin, age 54, died peacefully at his home in Byron Center, MI on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with his loving family at his side.

Steve was born on October 25, 1966 the 4th of 10 children. He spent his childhood on the family farm in Sand Lake, Michigan. He attended Cedar Springs High School and graduated in 1984.

Steve married Heidi Stoneburner on May 29, 1993, and they raised 3 children; Veronica (Bill) Lentz, Andrew Patin, and Bradley Patin. Steve was a talented and respected carpenter starting his career at Fase Builders and eventually running his own company, Patin’s Framing Service, most recently working alongside many wonderful subcontractors on jobsites in West Michigan for Johnson-Newhof Construction and also in the Cascade area for Tom Korth.

Steve loved hunting, trapping, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially at his cabin in the UP.

Steve was preceded in death by his brother Gary Patin as well as maternal and paternal grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Steve was a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, and brother who loved his family. His kindness and generosity of spirit will be remembered forever.

He is survived by his parents, Fred and Mary Lynn Patin; his siblings, Elizabeth (Paul) Uzarski; Karen Patin; Kevin (Susan) Patin; Kenneth (Elizabeth) Patin; Rebecca Meengs; Daniel (Nicole) Patin; Eric Patin; and Martin Patin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Steve’s greatest concern was the welfare of his family and asked that contributions in memory be made to support them; asking them to pay it forward and help someone else.

The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Avenue SW, Byron Center, MI. (MASKS ARE REQUIRED.) There will be a private burial in Sand Lake, MI.

Just simply a great guy, a wonderful guy to have as a close close cousin. Too many memories to write here... but I can assure you... all are good and make me smile and remember him in all fondness.
