Obituary

Monica Marie Stewart, age 72, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 in Fennville MI. She is survived by her children, Carmen (Gary) Modrzynski and Robert (Michelle) Waalkes and a brother, Jeff (Alma) Tuttle. She adored her grandchildren, Alicia Gamez, Christina Felts, Trever Kent, Abigail Waalkes, Marley Waalkes and Alex Modrzynski. She too had 3 great-grandchildren. Her parents, Hudson & Virginia Tuttle and husband, Norman Stewart are all welcoming her in Heaven.

Monica was an amazing mother and grandmother and took great joy in making holidays spectacular for her family and friends. She was witty, loving and warm. Always had food prepared and an open door for whomever may stop by. You never left her home hungry. Her other love was her dogs. Bassett Hounds roamed the house and her husband had the coon dogs outside. She worked at K-Mart for several years and sold Avon for 25 years too.

She left a void in the hearts that loved her but we find comfort in knowing that she loved God and is now at rest with Him and no longer in pain or sick.

Grandma was such a fun person to be around. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with her when we both moved out East for a little while. We became best buds. We would vent to each other, laugh together, and support one another. I'll never forget that. As a very young child, she is what made Christmas so special. There was just something about going to her house on Christmas Eve every year. She lived out in the country so it was just our family. Snow covered the ground, and she would always have old school Christmas music playing. I loved it so much. And yes, always a TON of food. But most importantly the laughs, and the love she gave. I wish I could've spent more time with her the past few years. It was hard living so far away from family. But I am grateful for the moments we did share together. I love you Grandma.
