Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Alexandra Kolenko (Kiefer) age 60 of Middleville, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020.
Born to Warren Kiefer & Ann-Marie Kiefer (Kaiser) in Middleton, CT on Feburary 20th, 1960.
She was raised in Portage, MI where she graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1978, and also met and fell in love with her husband "Bud".

She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Paul "Bud" Kolenko Jr., her father Warren Kiefer, mother Ann-Marie Coolidge, and father John Coolidge.

Kathy went to Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City. She went on to be an artist in so many ways. A graphic artist, painter, poet, antique collector, jewelry maker, sterling silver junkie, an amazing chef, and homemaker for over 20 years. In 2003 she bought her own brick and mortar called 'Luna Chicks Boutique'. She also had an eBay store where she sold antiques and handmade items; coined the name 'Artisans Trunk'. In 2016 she had the pleasure of directing the "Treasure Chest" department for Goodwill Industries; a dream job for her.

Kathy was gentle, loving, and kind with a true heart of gold. She made anyone and everyone she met feel like they were "home". If you had the pleasure of being greeted by her it was with a tight squeeze and a cheek kiss. She made friends anywhere she went and kept her lifelong friends close by frequently going on trips and spending nights with them playing cards or having cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Her family was everything to her. She was a badass mama who did it all and the most loving and proud "Nana" to her grandbabies. Even though missing her will hurt so deeply, we will always think of Kathy with joy because of the light she brought to our lives. She is forever our sunshine.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Allie Shuck and son-in-law Bradley James “BJ” Shuck, parents of grandsons Mackson and Kaden Shuck; daughter Maggie Kolenko and fiance Bobby Vohn, parents of grandson Beau and granddaughter Aaliyah Vohn. Brother Alden Kiefer and sister-in-law Robin Kiefer, brother Andrew Kiefer; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
