Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Lynn Boehlke (Booth) announces her passing on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the age of 72. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Donald W. Boehlke, her daughter Amanda (Alex) Roe, and her son Adam (Rebecca) Boehlke. Diane will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Rylie, Lexi, Jace and Skylar, who cherished any adventure they could have with their Mimi.

Born in 1946 in Lexington, MI, Diane received her teaching degree with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Spanish from Central Michigan University. She went on to complete her master’s in counseling. Diane spent the majority of her career at Jenison Public Schools in the high school guidance office. She truly loved her work, the staff, families, and most of all, the many students she counseled and mentored throughout her career. When she wasn’t at work, her great love was running. She cherished the local running community and the many friends and family she gained through RunGR, a local running group. It was with the support of the running community she ran many races. Perhaps the most important races to her were the several Boston Marathons she completed. Diane also cherished her many friends from Park Church.

Diane also loved reading, good coffee, red wine, IPAs, ice cream, chocolate, laughing, watching the Detroit Tigers, the Michigan State Spartans and most importantly spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, and her many friends who were family to her. She had a deep laugh that brought joy to all who had the pleasure of hearing it.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at First Park Congregational, 10 E. Park Place NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids, MI.
